Before deciding what sort of motorhome you’re going for you
need to be clear where you are going to keep it. Leaving it on the road is
inadvisable; partly because of the risk of it being hit by a passing vehicle
(or passing vandals) and also because insurance premiums will be higher if you
can’t keep it off-road.
If you have a drive large enough to accommodate it and any
other vehicles you may have, problem solved. This may have a bearing on the
size of motorhome you go for, especially if you need to get other vehicles on
and off the drive while it’s still parked there.
Otherwise it may be advisable to pay a storage facility.
Clearly this means more cost and also means you have to travel to wherever it
is stored every time you are going to use it, or even just do some work on it. And if you're not going to use it for a while, you will need to pay the occasional visit to give it an airing, check the battery is charged etc.
However, using a storage facility does broaden the scope for
getting a larger motorhome and all the extra facilities that go with it.
