Introduction

You don't just live in a motorhome, you live with it. So it's important to choose the right one, look after it properly and make the best use of it.

This blog is based on my own experiences, as well as pulling together useful advice from other sources. Please use the Contents link on the left for an overview of posts.

About this blog

The first thing to flag up is that I'm by no means an expert on motorhomes; in fact I would describe myself as a novice. So if you're looking for expert advice there are probably better sites out there (though watch out for hidden agendas).

In terms of experience, I had a camper van some 30 years ago (VW Westfalia conversion for those who are interested) and that was great, albeit a bit lacking in comfort. In those days we only had one dog but when we got a second dog it just wasn't big enough, so we got a bigger one (Talbot Highwayman) and that did the job for a while.

Then we got a third, very large, dog and another re-think was required. Which turned out to be selling the Highwayman and not thinking about motorhomes for another 20+ years.

Now, with just one dog and no plans for expansion, we're back on the motorhome trail and find that a lot has changed in the intervening period (and many things haven't). So the purpose of this blog is to share both the new discoveries and the re-discoveries.

If there's a moral to this tale it's that dogs are more important than motor homes.
